Working Humbly for the Lord

Zephaniah 2:1-3 New International Version (NIV)

Judah and Jerusalem Judged Along With the Nations

Judah Summoned to Repent

2 Gather together, gather yourselves together,
    you shameful nation,
2 before the decree takes effect
    and that day passes like windblown chaff,
before the Lord’s fierce anger
    comes upon you,
before the day of the Lord’s wrath
    comes upon you.
3 Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
    you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
    perhaps you will be sheltered
    on the day of the Lord’s anger.

Good morning everyone, today message speaks to us about two simple things: 1. Seeking to do the right action and 2. Being humble in the actions that we take. Pretty simple, huh? Yeah, I'd like to think so too, however our human nature almost always directly contradicts the both of these. So, in order to combat this we must abundantly seek the Lord for guidance in all things we commit to in this life, and in the completion of those actions we must humbly give all the praise and admiration to the One who allows us to do the things we do. So, today I encourage you when somebody starts to praise you for something you completed, try turning their admiration to the Lord, by saying, “It wasn't me, it was all Him." Have a blessed day! 🙂
