New Wine - 9/24/20

NEW WINE
Hey Family, this morning as I was reading through Matthew a question came to my mind that I would like to share with you today. The question goes as follows, "Would you put your old self in your new or current situation?" Think about this throughout the course of this message and this week.

TODAY'S PRAYER:
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the ways that you renew us and improve us each and every day. You give us the strength and guidance to make it through our ever-changing world if and when we are receptive to You. We can't do any of it without You Lord, and for that we praise Your Holy name. Lord we also come to You in humility and repentance for when we refuse to change and then proceed to complain about not receiving new opportunities and blessings. Lord help us to recognize that without a proper heart, mind, spirit, and life change we may never achieve what You fully have in store for us. Lord help us take the first step and then every step after it. In Jesus Christ name we pray, AMEN!"

SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 9:14‭-‬17 NIV
Then John’s disciples came and asked him, “How is it that we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?” Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast. “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

THE MESSAGE:
The Lord spoke to me this morning that every season has a very specific purpose in our lives. Each season is used to speak to us or shape us for the next season ahead. However, when we refuse to make the changes that Lord is calling us to make and then proceed to move on without the "proper supplies" the Lord will purposefully hold us back until we do so. We don't change because we are prideful, we think we know best, and we say, "Don't worry God, I can handle this all on my own." And just like our parents did for us, as God does for us, He restricts us from the moves we want to make until further notice. So, trust in the Lord today, make those necessary changes, and achieve all that God desires for your life. Have a blessed day! 🙂
