Jesus Christ as our Advocate - 12/22/20

Jesus Christ as our Advocate
Family, with Christmas just around the corner, and as we await in rememberance of just what Christ came to do as our Savior, I want to draw your attention to the fact that Christ was and is so many things to us. He is our Savior, protector, provider, comforter, confidant, friend, Heavenly Father, and yes, an advocate. For anyone who has ever needed a mediator to work on your behalf when just didn't have enough in you or didn't have the right contact, this message is for you. Let's bring this to the Father.

TODAY'S PRAYER
"Dear Heavenly Father, many others and I can attest to times in our lives where we couldn't do what needed to be done alone. The most important thing that You did when You sent Your one and only Son down to be with us was giving us an advocate, a go-between, a mediator to bridge the gap in communication with You, Lord. Help us to not take for granted this immense gift and blessing of a relationship with the King and Creator of this Universe and beyond. Lord we love You, Jesus Christ we love, and this Christmas season we will not forget the joyous and ever-giving gift of Your advocacy. In Jesus Christ name we pray, AMEN."

SCRIPTURE
He will Always be with Us
John 14:15‭-‬21 NIV
“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

He Makes Way for our Forgiveness
1 John 2:1‭-‬2 NIV
"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. "

His Promise Secures our Faith
Hebrews 10:19‭-‬23 NIV
"Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. "

Quote of the Day
"When Christ shows His face in your life as an advocate, the best thing that you could do is humbly give Him the utmost praise in response to His immeasurable generosity."
- Alvy Butler, Jr.
Have a blessed day! 🙂
