Renewed Joy - 5/18/21

Hey Family, today the Lord has placed on my heart the topic of renewed joy, not in the sense that I have been lacking joy in general, but in my time with Him I have not been feeling the same joy that I once did. This feeling and this passing season is not one to sink into despair, but rather one to press in and cry out to the Lord. He is a God who hears and answers, and will comfort His children in His timing. So, if you have found yourself in a similar season, know that you are not alone and that Christ still deeply wants you even if you can't feel His presence as you once did.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, today I thank You so much for Your grace and forgiveness for when we have foolish thoughts and speech that say, "You are not enough" or when our actions showcase to the world, "I can get true joy from an earthly source." Lord, You are the One and Only source joy in this life and the next and we praise You for it amongst many other things. I pray this prayer in expectation of increasing joy through You and an outpouring of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus Christ's beautiful name I pray, Amen.

Scripture
Joy Expressed Through the Psalms
Psalms 100:1‭-‬5
"Shout for joy to the Lord , all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his ; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."

Psalm 105:1-6
"Give praise to the Lord , proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, you his servants, the descendants of Abraham, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob."

Psalm 106:1-5
" Praise the Lord . Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good; his love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord or fully declare his praise? Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right. Remember me, Lord , when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them, that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise."

Quote of the Day
"Joy is thankfulness, and when we are joyful, that is the best expression of thanks we can offer the Lord, Who delivers us from sorrow and sin."
- Elder Thaddeus of Vitovnica
