Overflowing with Christ - 9/7/21

Overflowing with Christ

Hey Family, last week I spoke about the initial introduction of Christ into our hearts, then we set the ground rules of what that relationship should look like daily, but now it's time to go and do what Christ has called of us. To live a life that is filled to the brim and overflowing with Christ's love, grace, peace, humility, generosity, self-control and His holy word.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for yet another day where we get to live out lives in a manner that You might find good and pleasing in Your sight. I know first-hand that the world and all it's fleeting pleasure looks SO GOOD, but Lord when we consume Your Holy word and look at how You have been beyond faithful time and time again, we can confidently pursue You and willingly walk away from what the world has to offer. And instead we can come to You knowing that what we will receive from You is incomparably better. Thank you for being all that You are and doing all that You do, in Jesus Christ's beautiful name we pray, Amen."

Scripture
The Holy Spirit Abounds In Us
Romans 15:8‭-‬13 ESV
"For I tell you that Christ became a servant to the circumcised to show God’s truthfulness, in order to confirm the promises given to the patriarchs, and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, “Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.” And again it is said, “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people.” And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples extol him.” And again Isaiah says, “The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope.” May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

Loose the World; Partake in the Son
Ephesians 4:25‭-‬32 ESV
"Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."

Quote of the Day
Christ does not just give us enough to just fill us up, but rather He fills up to the point where we can't hold it all on our own so we pour out His mercy, love, and peace to others.
