Go For Gold - 2/8/22

Go For Gold
Hey Family, today I want to encourage you to not short change yourself in regards to living your life for Jesus Christ. This world tries us to convince us that being just good enough to get into Heaven is the ultimate goal. Nope. As Christians we are NOT called to live our lives just inches above the status quo. And to draw comparison with the on going Winter Olympics and Christ and His Kingdom, we ought to go for gold DAILY. This looks like sharing the gospel, praying on the spot with anyone in need, sharing your money, time, and resources. Also equally important, delving into the Holy word of God and spending intimate time with the Father. We do all of this so that, we might not miss out on any opportunity to further Christ's Kingdom or receive a revelation, blessing, or jewel for our crown in Heaven.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, we want more than ever to receive and achieve everything that You have called us to and have in store for us. However, we find ourselves amongst many, I being one of them, who seek the victor's crown, but are not always implementing the victor's plan to achieve said crown. Lord, please open our eyes, and ready our feet and hands to put in the proper work on this end of life that we might live life to the full in the next. And Father, I thank You in advance for this, because any genuine prayer that is in alignment with Your will You will bring to fruition for those who love You. In Christ Jesus name we pray, Amen."

Scripture
Perseverance Earns us the Purse
James 1:2‭-‬12
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."

Quote of the Day
"In the Olympics, the gold medal is received by the one who wins the event for that year, but in Heaven a gold crown with many jewels is received by all whose hearts have been won by Jesus Christ forever and ever."
- Alvy Butler, Jr.

Have a blessed day! 🙂
