Waiting On the Lord with Patience - 3/15/22

Waiting On the Lord with Patience
Hey Family, today I am starting things off with a question. How should we wait on the Lord? We can wait frustratedly. We could wait angrily. We could wait anxiously. We could even wait eagerly which could be a positive way to wait, however,if what we are waiting for "takes too long" for God to do then that can very quickly spiral into the other two options. In my limited understanding of life, I believe best way to wait on the Lord, in most senarios, is to wait patiently  because we will be less likely to put God in a box and it will make way for the Lord to move when and how He desires.

Today Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, You know your children's hearts and minds for You knit us in the womb. And for this,You know that we hate waiting and in many ways it is a draining and exhausting process. So, Lord, if Your will would allow, please give the strength and courage and hope and perseverance to wait on You patiently. Add whatever You need to add or take away whatever You need to take away, so that hearts and minds might be molded to Your liking. We humbly submit this prayer, in Christ Jesus name we pray, Amen."

Scripture
Be Patient for He is Patient
2 Peter 3:8‭-‬18
"But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."

Quote of the Day
"Patience Is Not the Ability to Wait:
Patience is not the ability to wait. Patience is to be calm no matter what happens, constantly take action to turn it to positive growth opportunities, and have faith to believe that it will all work out in the end while you are waiting."
- Roy T. Bennett

Have a blessed day! 🙂
