Prepared to Pray Always - 7/14/22

Prepared to Pray Always
Hey Family, today I want to talk about prayer and what it can and should mean to us, and what it means to God. Prayer allows us to have the opportunity to speak directly to our Heavenly Father, no middleman or sacrifices necessary. Prayer should be an intimate time that exhibits to God that we truly desire Him and that nothing else matters above Him in general, but especially in a time of prayer. It's maybe not explicitly said, but when an opportunity for prayer is left unseized, I believe in some way, shape, or form Christ is saddened by this. Here's why, if your closest friend found out that you had a viable opportunity to spend time with them and create great memories that would deepen your trust, love, and bond with one another wouldn't they be sad if you just decided it wasn't worth it or it was too inconvenient?

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, You are such a good Father to Your children. You are patient, kind, steadfast in Your love, and abounding in grace and mercy. You give us far more than we could ever repay and all You ask for in return is our love and devotion. And I know, Lord, that some may say that their love and devotion are far too much to ask for, but if they only knew the fullness of Your glorious, Heavenly riches. It would make the light and momentary sacrifices of this life so worth it to them! Help us, Lord, to take the time to seek Your face in prayer and be willing at the drop of a hat, joyfully NOT begrudgingly, to bring others into that space as well. Lord, time with You is more precious than gold and sweeter than honey. Let our hearts, minds, mouths, and actions reflect such a position. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray, Amen."

Scripture
Prayer's Power and Purpose
James 5:14‭-‬16
"Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much."

1 Thessalonians 5:16‭-‬18
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:6‭-‬7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Psalms 107:28‭-‬30
"Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses. He caused the storm to be still that the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad because they were quiet, so He guided them to their desired harbor."

Quote of the Day
"Prayer is a multilayered, multifaceted, incredibly intimate, and necessary act and experience for all people, all purposes, and all places. This unmatched source of power must not be forgotten or discounted."
- Alvy L. Butler, Jr.

Have a blessed day! 🙂
