The Lord Delights - 7/23/22

The Lord Delights
Hey Family, after some time of prayer and meditation, the Lord set on my heart the passage from Psalm 147 that states exactly what He delights in and also what He does not. The passage goes on to show that Christ despises pride in our strength or what the world views as worthy of praise. Instead, he desires that we might put our hope in His unfailing love and power. This may sound whimsical and maybe even ridiculous to some, but when you have personally experienced the deep, unrelenting love of Christ, you know you're in the right place.
Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us Your love when we least deserve it and allowing us to lean in and take part in that love and the body of Christ daily. Lord, it can be incredibly tempting to get caught up in achieving material accolades and gaining perceived power and status to try to impress people that we don't care about or will never meet. However, with Your help, we can set our hearts, minds, and spirits on the Kingdom and its higher and lasting purpose for our lives, rather than that which is fleeting. In Christ Jesus' beautiful name we pray, Amen."

Scripture
He is Worthy of Our Praise
Psalms 147:5‭-‬20
Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground. Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp. He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. He provides food for the cattle and the young ravens when they call. His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love. Extol the Lord, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion. He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you. He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat. He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes. He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast? He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow. He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws, and decrees to Israel. He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the Lord."

Quote of the Day
