Not On A Pedestal BUT In Its Place
Hey Family, the Lord has been working on me and helping me put things that the world says are important into perspective. This has been crucial in discerning what pieces have been wrongly placed on a pedestal in my life and my heart, and then also discerning how God wants me to handle those pieces once they are removed from the said pedestal. God has a proper purpose, plan, and place for all that He has created.

Scripture
Timing is Everything
Ecclesiastes 3:1‭-‬11
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

Be Heaven-minded
Colossians 3:1‭-‬5
"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry."

Pure and Lasting Treasure
Matthew 6:19‭-‬23
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"

Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, today I am overjoyed and grateful that You give Your Holy Spirit to help Your body, the Church, to discern and decide which things should or should not be put on a pedestal in this life. Because quite honestly, Lord, there are so many good and even great things in this life BUT without putting them in their proper place they can take over and cause detrimental consequences. Money in its proper place can bless others and provide bountiful opportunities for many. Sex in its proper place of marriage can bring an abundance of beautiful emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual intimacy. And even exercise in its proper place, can be life-giving and provide a fountain of youth to our body and worship to You, our Creator. Lord, you have given us many great things to partake in this life, but we are weak and easily confused and disoriented without the faithful guidance of Your Holy Spirit. Equip us today with all wisdom, knowledge, strength, and discipline to put the things of You and Heaven above every other thing. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and Redeemer, Amen.

Quote of the Day
"Love makes you see a place differently, just as you hold differently an object that belongs to someone you love. If you know one landscape well, you will look at all other landscapes differently. And if you learn to love one place, sometimes you can also learn to love another."
- Anne Michaels

Have a blessed day! 🙂
