Covered by His Wings - 3/31/23
Hey Family, sometimes life can feel overwhelming and the arrows of the Enemy REALLY do look like they pierce through our Shield of Faith. Those moments are terrifying. Those moments are humbling. Those moments make us realize the fragility of what we call life. BUT God. God has fortified the shield of those who genuinely have faith in Him. He is our good and perfect protector. He is worthy to be praised before and after the victory is won, for His is a faithful God.
Scripture
Psalms 3:1-8
"Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people."
Psalms 121:1-8
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."
Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful to Your children even in the face of our own doubt when the Enemy's advances get a little too close for our comfort. Father, give us courage, peace, and the strength to love that literally makes no sense to the synical world around us. Help your children to be little Christs in a world blinded by the Enemy's schemes. And help to us to have still minds, mouths, hearts, and bodies as we bask in the shade of Your unwaivering favor and protection, just a mother bird covers her young. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer, Amen."
Quote of the Day
"Safety comes in our nearness to God, not in our distance from our enemies."
