Let Your Light Shine - 6/22/23

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE
Hey Family, today I want to share with you a near and dear revelation that I had recently. Lately, when life seems to be hitting its hardest I have been taking time to praise the Lord vocally despite the circumstances. What I have not been doing is turning those times of pointed praise into talking points in regular conversation. Can I believe it? I regressed into the muck and mire of cynicism and frustration. Instead of letting my light shine that grew in the secret place, I hid it and spoke about my circumstances the way the world assumed I would. My encouragement for you today is that the Lord gives you light and true joy within your soul, be bold, break out of the box that social pressures can try to put you in, and share the mighty work that God is doing!

Scripture
Matthew 5:14‭-‬16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

2 Timothy 1:14
"Guard  the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us"

Matthew 25:14‭-‬30
“Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money. “After a long time, the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. “ ‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank You ou for Your grace and mercy that are renewed each day. You know that this world, which is not our home, can weigh heavily on us. Sometimes we get such a bountiful deposit in our spirit from our time of intimacy with You and the Enemy and the culture we live in indirectly or directly bullies us into keeping our light and joy covered up. Lord, help us today for You did not give us the spirit of fear and timidity, but of boldness and truth! In Jesus Christ's name w,e pray, Amen."

Quote of the Day
"Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world. Don't let anything stand in the way of the light of Christ that shines through you."
