Gravestones, Solitude, and Balance - 3/10/24

Gravestones, Solitude, and Balance

Hey Family, today I have been blessed with the opportunity to talk to you about 3 things that I believe we all need: Gravestones - for things of life that have come to pass that have brought joy and excitement but also wounds and lament, and are too heavy to carry with us moving forward (fun fact: the average upright gravestone is 230lbs). Solitude - for cultivating a season of healthy isolation, rest, and healing from what we want in the flesh to eventually produce more of what God wants to do in our Spirit. Balance - letting God lead your life in a new trajectory that sustainably pulls from what has passed away and what has been brought to life in an intentional season of getting alone with our Creator. This is not an exhaustive list nor is it a perfect list, but it could be a good start for many.

Gravestones
‭‭Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV‬‬
[18] “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. [19] See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Solitude
‭‭Isaiah 30:15 ESV‬‬
[15] For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and trust shall be your strength.”

Balance
‭‭‭‭Romans 12:2 NLT‬‬
[2] Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, You have created a rhythm in the world and reality, as we know it, of life, death, and rebirth, and as Christians, You have given us a call to witness that rhythm. Through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection You have shown us how we ought to go so that we might not stay stagnant in the realm of death and despair but achieve life to the full. Lord, please meet us wherever we are in this journey of life and bend our lives to your will. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray, Amen.

Quote of the Day
"When the Lord makes it clear you're to follow Him in this new direction, focus fully on Him and refuse to be distracted by comparisons with others."
- Swindoll Charles R.

Have a blessed day! šŸ™‚
