Let Go of Your Anger - 4/2/24

Let Go of Your Anger

Hey Family, yesterday,  at Husband's prayer, I brought up the notion that when we let go of the anger that fuels our unhealthy desires we allow our hearts and minds to firmly grasp peace, humility, love, grace, and healing. In our culture and media, everything tells you to get mad, hold grudges, and never forgive or forget. But Christ says to forgive seventy-seven times and to let peace that surpasses understanding rule in our hearts. Are you letting Jesus Christ or your anger and desires rule your heart? If it's anger and your desires, what positive, long-term benefits have been produced as a result of those?

Scripture
‭Ephesians 4:31-32 NLT‬
[31] Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. [32] Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, and forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

James 1:19-21 NLT‬
[19] Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. [20] Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. [21] So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.

Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for waking us up this morning and giving us new hope, joy, and peace. Thank you for giving us hearts and minds that can be changed for your glory and our good. Lord, I recognize that many people have acquired a lifetime of experiences that cause them to be angry, have hate, be bitter, and hold decade-long grudges, but you have always wanted us to experience your love, peace, and life to the full. Father, help us to willingly let go and walk away from the things that have caused us the most pain, anger, and sorrow and trade them into Jesus for true joy and healing. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Amen.

Quote of the Day
"Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured."
- Mark Twain

Have a blessed day! 🙂

  1. Amen! That is message is straight fire. It is exhausting holding onto hatred and blocks our ability to see the blessings He gives.
