Grounded in Christ - 5/14/24

Grounded in Christ

Hey Family, it has been a minute since I last wrote to you all, however, I had a powerful word in my heart that I just had to share. Today and yesterday, the phrase "grounded in Christ" kept popping up as a theme in my heart and mind. With every situation that, in the past would've caused internal and external chaos to ensue, I had the peace of Christ extinguishing every fire. One could say I felt calm, cool, and collected in Christ Jesus, and if you ask me, that's exactly what life with Christ should look and feel like.

Scripture
‭Hebrews 6:16-20 NIV‬
[16] People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all arguments. [17] Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. [18] God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which God can't lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. [19] We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, [20] where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Jeremiah 17:5-8 NIV‬
[5] This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. [6] That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a saltland where no one lives. [7] “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. [8] They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, I take a moment now to acknowledge that You are great and mighty and no one can compare to Your glory, power, peace, and love. I thank You from the depths of my being for being our God and Father who is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and deeply intimate all for Your glory and our good. Lord, help us to lead lives that exude this kind of confidence, hope, peace, and love to all we encounter. May the words of mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer, in Jesus Christ's mighty name, Amen."

Quote of the Day
"This presence of the Son of God is a reality—every moment of every day. When we recognize that He is always with us, it influences everything about our behavior, our attitudes, our speech, and our relationships."
- Paul Chappell

Have a blessed day! 🙂
