Slaves to Righteousness - 5/8/20
Today the Lord put on my heart the question, "What does it mean to be slaves to righteousness?" At first thought, it brought about a negative connotation due to the word 'slave', but then I started thinking about in the way that Christ would want me view this word. With Jesus Christ, He recognizes that that as humans often will willingly waltz right into the slavery of our own human desires and wants, which ultimately leads to death. But the Lord offers us something so much greater! He offers us the blessings of being able to choose the path of righteousness. This path leads us to holiness, blessings, grace, honor, favor, peace, and ultimately eternal life. The Lord knows how much us humans enjoy making our own decisions, so as we end another work week I ask you, which path will you choose?

Romans 6:20-22
"20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at the time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life."
