How Long is Too Long? - 8/13/20

Hello Family, I hope you all are holding it together and still striving forward despite our circumstances. Sometimes the idea of doing both of those things can seem quite daunting, especially in the midst of confusion, depression, fear, and lack of necessities BUT I know one thing. God is still on the throne, He is still in control, and He promises to work everything out for our good. But there's a catch...

Today's Prayer:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today a little frustrated, a little battered and bruised, and maybe even a little bit confused. But I am to say that that's ok, because I know You have got everyone in the world completely covered by Your almighty and matchless blood that covers us through the storm. Father, today, give us the patience and perseverance to hold true to Your promises EVEN IF they take (in our human understanding of time) a lot longer to come to fruition. We raise this prayer up to you wholeheartedly, in Jesus Christ name we pray, Amen!"

So, what's this catch I speak of? Well, in the prayer above I kind of alluded to it. That's right. Sometimes we have to wait a lot longer than we as humans intended to be waiting for God promises to be fulfilled. And my question to you is, "How long is too long?" And be real with your answer too. Right now, I know that plenty of you have a pretty low threshold for waiting on people, so when there's no written step-by-step plan from God (who is also not tangible) is your threshold even lower?... I'm not trying to accuse anyone here, I just want you to take a second to think and maybe find some points in your life that may need re-evaluating to align with His will in the department of patience. And to round things out for you, I am here to say that it is  NEVER too long to wait on the Lord. Have a blessed day! 🙂

"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
2 Peter 3:8‭-‬9 NIV
