The Significance of the Word
Hey Family, today I want to talk to you about my favorite book. That book is the Bible. Yes, I like and love other books, but they all pale in comparison to the Bible. And, if you stick with me until the end of this message you will find out why.TODAY'S PRAYER
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today, praising Your Almighty name on high for how you work in unspeakable ways in our lives and show us how in every season, no matter how chaotic, there is a way to abide in You and Your will. One of the ways that You work and have always worked is through Your word. The scriptures gives us insider information Your heart and the desires that you have for us and how we can get and keep our life on track. Lord, open our eyes today to see just how vital You and Your word is in our lives. In Jesus Christ name we pray, AMEN!"
SCRIPTURE
Devised from God NOT man
2 Peter 1:16-21 NIV
"For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain. We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
"
Utilized as a Tool
Colossians 3:15-17 NIV
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
"
A Living and Holy Weapon
Hebrews 4:12-13 NIV
"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
"
You see family, God's word is multifaceted and God-breathed. And most of all if you allow it to, this book and a relationship with Jesus Christ can and will change your life forever. In this life and the next. So, my call to action today is to open up your mind and heart to seek and find the treasures of the Bible and watch how God works. Have a blessed day! 🙂
