Make Every Effort - 11/20/20

Make Every Effort
Happy Friday family, we have made it through another week by the grace of God, and His grace and mercy are new each day. In addition to His grace and mercy being renewed each day, so should our efforts to know Him more, to be more intimate with Him, and to have more faith in Him and His will. My question to you is, "Are you putting forth the effort?"

TODAY'S PRAYER
"Dear Heavenly Father, today we come expectant of nothingless than Your perfect will. We recognize that with Your will in play, also comes a call of human effort to do ALL that we can to abide in You. Lord, we recognize that this road with You and to Heaven is not an easy one and there is much sacrifice, but the eternal riches that we are being stored up are so much more worth it. Help us, Lord, to be sustained through You to stay on or get on the path of the righteous for it is the only, true way. In Jesus Christ name we humbly offer this prayer, AMEN!"

SCRIPTURE
The Compiling of Virtues
2 Peter 1:5‭-‬10 NIV
"For  this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, "

Earthly Effort for the Lord
Colossians 3:23‭-‬24 NIV
"Whatever  you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. "

Don't Get Locked Out at the End
Luke 13:22‭-‬28 NIV
"Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’  “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’ “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out."

Quote of the Day
Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.
- Theodore Roosevelt

Have a blessed day! 🙂
