A Narrow Door - 1/6/21

A Narrow Door
Hey Family, I have something important to share with you. It's something I'm not excited to say, but alas it is true. On the Day of the Lord, when Jesus Christ returns there will be many that will not make it into the Kingdom of Heaven. The even more painful part, is that many people will be going up to the entrance to Heaven believing that they have a valid admission ticket, BUT their credentials or prerequisites will not fit the bill and will be turned away. However, there is hope to be had and effort to be made. Let's go to the Father in prayer and have Him break it down for us.

TODAY'S PRAYER
"Dear Heavenly Father, today we are dealing with some rather grim news. News that for some might leave them feeling hopeless for the future. But today, Lord, I am asking that You might reveal to each of us the desires of Your heart and the promises of the Bible, that we might significantly lower the margin of people who will not make it into eternity with You. Lord, show us the way we must go and the things we must do to show our undivided allegiance to You. In Jesus Christ name we pray, Amen."

SCRIPTURE
The Warning
Luke 13:22‭-‬30 NIV
"Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’ “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”

The Opportunity
Matthew 19:16‭-‬24 NIV
"Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, “ ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

The Reward
James 1:12 NIV
"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."
Luke 12:33 NIV
"Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. "
1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV
"However , as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him— "

Quote of the Day
"It is worth to be a citizen of heaven than to be the king of hell."
