Arogant Planning - 3/11/21
Hey Family, today I have been reflecting on how I used to be and how the world still operates. When the world makes plans they don't consider God and His will and for a long time I didn't either. To receive the fullness of Christ we must come to Him with a heart full of humility and a willingness to change as He prompts us.
Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, today I am coming to You with all my guilt and shame of all the times that I spoke with certainty about what I 'would' or 'would not' do, as though I had real insight or power to do so. For that, I ask for forgiveness and the constant reminder that You are the beholder of my life and You call ALL of the shots. Blessed be the name of the for He has never and will never fail us! In Jesus Christ's beautiful I pray, Amen.
Scripture
A Contingent Promise
Acts 18:18-21 NIV
"Paul stayed on in Corinth for some time. Then he left the brothers and sisters and sailed for Syria, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila. Before he sailed, he had his hair cut off at Cenchreae because of a vow he had taken. They arrived at Ephesus, where Paul left Priscilla and Aquila. He himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews. When they asked him to spend more time with them, he declined. But as he left, he promised, “I will come back if it is God’s will.” Then he set sail from Ephesus."
Boast in the Lord Not Tomorrow
James 4:13-17 NIV
"Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them."
Quote of the Day
