Knowledge is the Key - 4/22/21

Hey Family, today I am recognizing just how important knowledge of the world and of God is important. But as Christians we cannot allow our knowledge to keep us from empathy for others, love for God, nor can we allow it to develop a sense of pride and supremacy within us. In fact, we ought to use our knowledge to increase our love, our empathy and humility as we know more and about our amazing and almighty God.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us the ability to learn and grow in general, but moreso, thank You for giving us the blessing and opportunity to know You more and more each day. Equal reciprocity is simply not a requirement for You. We give You so little in comparison to what You give us and yet You love us in ways that we could never do and amounts that we could never match. We are eternal grateful. In Jesus Christ's beautiful name we pray, Amen!

Scripture
Good Things in an Increasing Measure
2 Peter 1:1‭-‬8 NIV
"Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

True Knowledge Denounced
Romans 1:18‭-‬23 NIV
"The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles."

Ask. Believe. Receive.
James 1:5‭-‬8 NIV
"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do."

Quote of the Day
"God trusts most those who know Him best, and those who know Him best are those who have spent the most time with Him."
- Mark Batterson

Have a blessed day! 🙂
