The Practicality of the Bible - 4/1/21

Hey Family, today as I woke up, the Lord dropped in my spirit a desire to reflect. So, in my reflection, I took stock of just how practical the Bible is and how if one were to truly take many aspects of it and put them into practice, their lives would drastically be changed. I have experienced the fruits of this personally and am so grateful. My encouragement for you today, is that you might consider doing the same.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for being such a good Father that Your speech is not solely "Trust me and it will all work out", but that You give us a step by step guide that gives detailed instructions and reasons to become more and more like You. We also thank you for the opportunity for true and deep intimacy through a relationship with You. And the only thing that I humbly ask in this moment, is that You would continue to spur us on in the pursuit of You, for our flesh is weak and our minds are prone wander. In Jesus Christ's beautiful name we pray, Amen.

Scripture
Proverbs 2:6 NIV
"For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding."

Proverbs 15:1
" A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

1 Timothy 6:9‭-‬10 NIV
"Those  who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."

James 1:19‭-‬22 NIV
"My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."

*Disclaimer* - There are many more examples throughout the Bible, and I encourage you to spend some time digging in the Word to find these great truths and apply them to your life.

Quote of the Day
"You will always be a student of life and of the Lord, and there is no graduation, despite popular belief."
- Alvy Butler, Jr.

Have a blessed day! 🙂
