Absolute Devotion - 5/13/21

Hey Family, over the past couple of weeks the Lord has been convicting me of my lack of intimacy with Him and how I have felt like I have been going through the motions lately. I know this type of feeling will come again at times when life's craziness hits hard, but I owe it to the One who gave it all on the Cross to give my best efforts. To give my absolute devotion.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being a God of grace, for we would all be cast into oblivion were you not. Today, I ask for forgiveness for my lack of effort to get away from the world and just spend quality time with You. I pray that You would increase my eagerness and joy to spend that time with You and that the results of it would be an overflowing of Your spirit and greater preaching of Your gospel in my daily life. To God be all the glory and in Jesus Christ beautiful name we pray, Amen."

Scripture
Leading a Devoted Life of Christ
Psalms 119:1‭-‬16 NIV
"Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord . Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart— they do no wrong but follow his ways. You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed. Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees! Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands. I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws. I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me. How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, Lord ; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word."

Quote of the Day
"The devout life does not solely entail living as a monk or ascetic, though that is fine. The devout life requires bringing God into all things."
- David Paul Kirkpatrick

Have a blessed day! 🙂
