When Life Hits and God Prevails

Hey Family, today as I reflect on my past, my current life circumstances, and quickly approaching future; I see the many times where God has rightfully disrupted my small-minded plans for the bigger picture that His will holds. When life hits hard our first response should not be, "How can I fix this?" It should be "How might God be using this?"

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heaven Father, thank you that Your will trumps ours every time. When we take the backseat and let You drive You get us where we need to be so much quicker! Help us, Lord, to humble ourselves under Your will so You don't have to. In Jesus Christ's beautiful name we pray, Amen."

Scripture
His Word Sets it in Stone
Isaiah 14:24‭-‬27 NIV
"The Lord Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen. I will crush the Assyrian in my land; on my mountains I will trample him down. His yoke will be taken from my people, and his burden removed from their shoulders.” This is the plan determined for the whole world; this is the hand stretched out over all nations. For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?"

God Can Test as He Chooses
Job 1:6‭-‬12 NIV
"One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord , and Satan also came with them. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord , “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.” The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord."

God Can Bless as He Chooses
Job 42:10‭-‬17 NIV
"After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him, and each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring. The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. And he also had seven sons and three daughters. The first daughter he named Jemimah, the second Keziah and the third Keren-Happuch. Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers. After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. And so Job died, an old man and full of years."

Quote of the Day
"When the Lord makes it clear you're to follow Him in this new direction, focus fully on Him and refuse to be distracted by comparisons with others."
