When Our Pride Creeps

Hey Family, today I had a pride check from the Lord. To be frank, it was regarding my sense of pride that was creeping in regarding my weekly messages. I found myself being more concerned about what people thought and would like, and was subconsciously putting what would please God on the back burner. Pride is more dangerous and deceptive than it appears to the human eye, do not be fooled.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, today we come to You with the issue of pride, that plagues us all in a unique way. First, we must repent of the ways in which pride has manifested in our hearts and through our actions. Second, we ask for You to cleanse us, to make holy and set apart from the world. And third, we pray that You might keep us alert and soberminded of our triggers that cause us to be inclined to let our pride back in and rule our hearts. We only want You, Lord, and all Your goodness and grace. For He must increase, and we must decrease as it says in John 3:30. And to all of this we give all glory, honor and praise to the One Creator of All, in Jesus Christ's beautiful name we pray, Amen."

Scripture
Our Pride Will Be Demolished
Isaiah 2:8‭-‬17 ESV
"Their land is filled with idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their own fingers have made. So man is humbled, and each one is brought low— do not forgive them! Enter into the rock and hide in the dust from before the terror of the Lord, and from the splendor of his majesty. The haughty looks of man shall be brought low, and the lofty pride of men shall be humbled, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. For the Lord of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up—and it shall be brought low; against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up; and against all the oaks of Bashan; against all the lofty mountains, and against all the uplifted hills; against every high tower, and against every fortified wall; against all the ships of Tarshish, and against all the beautiful craft. And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled, and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day."

Nail Your Sin to the Cross
Colossians 2:8‭-‬15 ESV
"See  to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him."

Quote of the Day
"We must stop using God's word as springboard into a pool of our own thoughts and opinions; rather we must leave them out to dry on the side, while we dive deep into His precepts and promises."
- Alvy Butler, Jr.
