Intercessory Prayer - 6/15/21

Hey Family, today the Lord has placed on my heart a spirit of prayer. Prayer for family, for friends, for the sick, for broken communities, and for those yet to be born. In thinking about this from an earthly way, this all brings about a bit of anxiety and worry. However, as we consciously turn our gaze and hearts heavenward, we will feel a deep peace knowing that our Heavenly Father hears our prayers and responds in His perfect timing.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us the precious and gracious gift of prayer. You have blessed us with community within the body of Christ to pray with one another without ceasing. And what is so cool with You, Lord, is that our prayers do not have a shelf life, but rather a specified time for which You alone decide that our prayers might be answered. And, if Your will allows, please give us the memory, the strength, and the desire to continue present all that is heavy and burdensome before Your mighty throne, in Jesus Christ beautiful name we pray, Amen."

Scripture
In Every Circumstance
Ephesians 6:16‭-‬20 ESV
"In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak."

Pray Day and Night
Isaiah 62:6‭-‬9 ESV
"On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth. The Lord has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm: "I will not again give your grain to be food for your enemies, and foreigners shall not drink your wine for which you have labored; but those who garner it shall eat it and praise the Lord, and those who gather it shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary."

Why We Pray?
Psalm 145:17‭-‬21 ESV
"The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever."

Quote of the Day
"We never know how God will answer our prayers, but we can expect that He will get us involved in His plan for the answer. If we are true intercessors, we must be ready to take part in God’s work on behalf of the people for whom we pray."
