Striving for Consistency

Hey family, today I want us to deeply consider the consistency or lack thereof that is within our lives as it relates to all things, but mostly regarding our relationship with Christ. As it says in Ephesians 4, too often we are tossed to and fro by the waves and ways of the world. And if we so choose to keep on calling ourselves Christians, we can not and should not carry on in such a manner.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, there are many things that You are and in all of them You are 100%. Which leads me to know that You are 100% consistent in all that You say You are, all that You say you are not, all that you have ever done or said and will do and say. You are unchanging. Please help our feeble minds and spirits to comprehend just a sliver of that, and with the tiny bit that we can comprehend, give us the tenacity, faith, and desire to be as consistent as we possibly can through our own strength and through the grace and strength of Christ Jesus. Only You can do such a work in us, so we humbly and fully submit ourselves and all our ways to You. In Jesus Christ name we pray, Amen."

No Longer Tossed, but Planted
Ephesians 4:8‭-‬16
"Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love."

Staying True to Heavenly Wisdom
James 3:13-18
"Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace."

Quote of the Day
"Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently."
- Maya Angelou
