The Pursuit of the Holy and Higher Things

Hey Family, today in my prayer and Bible time, I read through a majority of Philippians and got me thinking about my thought life and the contents of my heart. And these question came to mind, "At the core, what am I pursuing in life in my head, my heart, and through my actions? And is Jesus Christ at the root and the branches?"

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word that truly gives us a blueprint of how we ought live our lives. Not everyone will agree with that, and there are things that I struggle with within its contents as well, but Lord, if it means greater glory for the Kingdom and the potential for being seen as spotless and blameless in Your eyes for the Day of the Lord, then with all that is within me I will pursue a life worthy of the Gospel. All glory, honor, and praise be to the One who created all and holds all things together. In Jesus Christ's beautiful name we pray, Amen."

"Finally , brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Heaven-minded Approach
Colossians 3:1‭-‬6
"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming."

Heed Holiness
1 Peter 1:13‭-‬17
"Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear."
