The Weight of Romans 8 - 11/11/21

The Weight of Romans 8

Hey Family, I this morning I read through Romans 8 again, and not that I am surprised, but I had the privilege of rediscovering the power, the conviction, and the freedom through Christ that lies within this chapter. If you would humor me and add a blessing to your life, I encourage you to take some time out of your day today read and heed this powerful chapter in the Bible.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Father in Heaven, You have been so gracious and generous to us to bless us with Your Holy word. Some take it for granted and count it as 'just another book on religion', but for the ones who call themselves Your children, this book is one of the most valuable things one could ever possess. Lord, You know that it has and continues to be a journey of eb and flowing desire to know You and Your word in my life and in many others, but today I pray that You would simply put a spirit of deep longing for You and Your word today and forevermore. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, Amen."

Scripture
From Slaves to Sons and Daughters
Romans 8:12‭-‬16
"Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children."

The Spirit Speaks on Our Behalf
Romans 8:26‭-‬28
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Nothing Can Separate Us From His Love
Romans 8:37‭-‬39
"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Quote of the Day
"The Word of God has unimaginable power, but when we try to add our own flare we greatly diminish it."
- Alvy Butler, Jr.

Have a blessed day! 🙂
