The Power of Vulnerability - 1/25/22

The Power of Vulnerability
Hey Family, today was the first day in almost a month that we had Husband's Prayer. I am grateful that even after a month we just jumped right into the things that had been plaguing our minds and our spirits over the past few weeks to submit to God in prayer. When we choose vulnerability we create an environment and culture of honesty, humility, grace, and accountability. These things are pleasing to both God and man. Let us continually pursue them.

Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, You did not create us to shut up our emotions, to not share our thoughts, or live in isolation to close ourselves off from the world. You created us to live and love in community, specifically one that abides in You. Even though vulnerability can be hard, and even unnerving, we are better for it. And in the correct context we can even grow to be more holy for it. Jesus, please take our hearts and our minds and set them on You and holy things that we might be made holy and sanctified. In Christ Jesus name we pray, Amen."

Kill It, So That You May Live
Colossians 3:1‭-‬12
"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."

Quote of the Day
"Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path."
- Brené Brown

Have a blessed day! 🙂
