Prayer Has No Shelf-Life - 8/30/22
Hey Family, today the Lord set it upon my heart to talk about prayer, persistence in prayer, and how even prayers from long ago still hold their relevance with God. Persistent prayer, otherwise known as intercessory prayer, is often the secret sauce in the Kingdom of God. Blessings flow, in God's timing that often looks different than our timing when we commit to bringing our troubles, our worries, and our fears before the feet of our Heavenly Father. I have seen in my life over and over and over again how God has so tactfully answered and delayed answers to prayers that I have fervently prayed over the years. Our God is perfect in all of His ways. His thoughts and ways are far higher, vaster, and completely inclusive, and no person or thing is ever forgotten or forsaken.
Today's Prayer
"Dear Heavenly Father, how precious is Your Holy name. How splendorous are Your ways and Your thoughts! Your power and grace are unmatched and the rocks and the seas, and all of Creation cry out to You and glorify Your beautiful name. Father, You hear every prayer that is spoken, and You do not, nor have You ever forgotten a single one. However, sometimes, in the times that we are waiting for You to answer Lord, we somehow get it in our minds that we have earned the right to the immediacy of Your blessings, mercies, and decisions. For that, we repent and ask for the patience and peace to wait on You to show up in power as You always do! May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my Strength, and my Redeemer. Amen."
Scripture
The Lord is Not slow, He is Perfect
2 Peter 3:8-9
"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promises, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
Unshaken in the Beautiful Wait
Psalms 27:13-14
"I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
Quote of the Day
"How beautiful is the art of waiting on the Lord? That when the Master and Creator has finished His part with passion, power, and perfection, that we might be in absolute shock and awe in the end."
- Alvy Butler, Jr.
Have a blessed day! 🙂
