Casting out Our Pride - 7/20/20

Hello family, today I have had a somewhat trying day and if it weren't for me denouncing my pride in the situations that arose, I do not believe I would have handled them in a Christ-like manner. Before we get into the thick of this message, I have a couple questions that I would like you to ponder on throughout this message, as well as throughout the week. They read as follows, "What situations in your life cause the most pride in you to arise? If you you were to denounce your pride, especially in those situations, how do you believe the Lord could potentially move within that new found space?"
The Lord set these exact questions upon my heart in the thick of my day and I am immensely grateful that He did that exactly when He did it. You see family, when we get out of God's way. Set aside our angst, our pride, and our humanly plans, we have an opportunity to witness the awe-inspiring work of the Lord without Him having to do a whole work around of our voluntary mess. Seek first the Kingdom and His glory and all your will be well-cared for. For it is written in 1 Peter 5:5-11 NIV,
"In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”  Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.  Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.  And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen."

Have a blessed day! 🙂
