Do Not Let Your Heart Harden - 7/6/20

Good morning family, I want to apologise for doing what I am going to encourage you not to do today over these past few days. Yes, from the title you might've guessed it, in this week I have struggled with not hardening my heart over the things that are occurring in my life. But, I have seen the error in my ways and have repented of that sin. Praise the Lord that we as Christ-followers have the blessing and opportunity to do such a thing of relieving ourselves of such a burden! Today, as I was reading in Hebrews 3, I came across a few verses that spoke directly against, in terms of encouragement but also rebuke, about my hardening heart and my lack of encouraging others in this week. It reads in Hebrews 3:7-13,
So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice,  do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness,  where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did.  That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’  So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”  See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness."

You see family, our human nature is so conceited and if left unchecked to fester and rot, we too can end up just like the Israelites in the wilderness with hardened hearts, shut out from the Lord's rest. So, today I encourage you to seek the Lord to soften your heart beyond what you could do for yourself. Have a blessed day! 🙂
