The Promised Living Hope - 7/15/20

Hello Family, I hope that you have all enjoyed the days leading up to this beautiful Hump Day! Today, I was feeling in need of a reminder of the hope promised by our Lord and Savior, but in the finding that message of hope I also found the call on our lives in light of this promised hope. Let me walk you through it a bit. It says in 

1 Peter 1:3-5 NIV,

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time."

The great news of an even greater promise is something to be praised! However, as I kept reading, as I encourage you to do as well, I was immediately sobered by the verses that followed... For it is written in 

1 Peter 1:13-16 NIV, 

"Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

THAT'S OUR PART FOLKS! Be holy and set apart from this life to be the salt and light that leads others to this hope that we so earnestly seek. I pray that in these still troublesome times, that you would keep the hope that we profess and enlighten someone else who may not know about it at all and spur them on to pay it forward.
