A Life Remembered - 8/17/20

A Tribute to my late Uncle Wendell, 1938-2020... May you rest in peace and praise the Lord like never before now that you have at last entered the throne room of the Lord.

Hello family, yesterday afternoon I had the privilege and pleasure to hear from a multitude of well-loved family members speak so highly of my recently passed uncle during his memorial service. They spoke of him in way that showcased his passion for the Lord, his desire to aid his family, friends, and co-workers at the drop of a hat, his resilience despite life's opposition and the diverse range of his ability in the performing arts. He was a true Renaissance man who fully-embodied the marks of a man who was after God's own heart. 

This being said, I want to shift direction of this conversation back to you. Yes, you! Knowing every thing that you know about you, are living the life that you want God to know you by and the life you want your family and friends and the world to remember you by? Don't answer that question too quickly now. Mull it over. Let it marinade and think through it before you answer... Now that you've done that, what's the verdict? Are you in need of change? Are you right on track? If so, how can you improve?

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

This life is not for the faint of heart, my Uncle Wendell knew it and lived it. And because he knew it, he lived his life to the fullest, despite his obstacles, and did it in an upstanding and outstanding Christian way. The question I leave you with today is, "Are you living the life you hope to be remembered by?" If not, change it. Time's a ticking... Have a blessed day! 🙂
