Less Like Me & More Like Christ

Hey Family, today's message is what this journey of being a Christian is all about. To be slowly but surely increasingly more like Jesus Christ in EVERY aspect of our lives. And though that process is often grueling and tiresome, the process of stripping away everything that hinders the love of Christ and our ability to know and be like Him. Today, we must ask God to show us what things must be painstakingly removed from our inner being, that when His process with us is complete we might be as close as an image to Christ as we can on this side of Heaven. 

Removed to Receive 

Hebrews 12:1‭-‬3 

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

Power to Grasp His Love

Ephesians 3:14‭-‬19

"For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."

Today's Prayer

"Dear Heavenly Father, today we bless Your Holy name and we lift high for all the world to see! Lord, today we ask for deep revelation. Revelation of our hearts that we might be made clean and have hearts with undivided attention paid only to Christ. Secondly, we pray for revelation of the fullness and depth of Your perfect love for us that surpasses all understanding. Lord, both of these pieces need Your Holy Spirit's presence and power for ANYTHING good to happen. So, come Holy Spirit, come rest on us, and let your glory be revealed in Heaven and on Earth! In Jesus' beautiful name, we pray, Amen.
